RUSA
The RashtriyaUchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan (RUSA), a Centrally Sponsored Scheme (CSS), was launched in 2013 with the aim to work with eligiblestate universities and its affiliated colleges to elevate the standard of campus life. The central funding (in the ratio of 90:10 for special category states in which Tripura is included) is based on specific norms and is outcome dependent.
Funds to the higher education institutes is channelized from the central ministry through the state governments/union territories to the State Higher Education Councils before reaching the identified institutions. ‘Funding to states would be made on the basis of the critical appraisal of State Higher Education Plans, which would enlist each state’s strategy to address issues of equity, access and excellence in higher education’ (source: http://rusa.nic.in/about-us/overview/).
Iswar Chandra Vidyasagar College, Belonia is fortunate enough to be enlisted in the list of RUSA grant receivers. The college has received fund from RUSA under Infrastructural Grant for Colleges head.
